Ever since Xiaomi introduced HyperOS, it has consistently been bringing in both design and functional changes for its users. In fact, not too long ago, it also mentioned how it would be introducing AI dynamic wallpapers for select devices. However, it seems as though the smartphone maker isn’t done with the changes and plans to revamp a few more elements for Xiaomi smartphones.
In recent news, it was revealed that the brand will introduce a new call screen that brings it closer to its overarching aim of being user-friendly. Read on to know more:
Next big HyperOS update could bring in a revamped call screen
According to a report published by XiaomiTime, the new feature is planned to roll out with the next HyperOS global update. The report mentions how the design change is aimed at enhancing user experience and making it a lot simpler for them to manage calls. It additionally states that this update will benefit all global Xiaomi users with the Google Phone app.
Further, it lists down improvements that are coming along with this update. Some of these include:
– New left and right swipe gestures to answer or decline calls (this will replace the original up and down swipe)
– A centred call button that can be dragged in either direction
– A cleaner, more accessible design to enhance the look and feel of the call screen
– Other unspecified intuitive gestures that are ‘similar’ to those of other smartphone apps

The post adds that the old design was considered slightly challenging for those looking to swipe with both their hands, and Xiaomi has incorporated the new swipe mechanism to match the natural instincts that the users are familiar with.
It goes on to state that the new screen will be ideal for those users who want to use the device with one hand or multitask while taking a call. It is even better suited for those who prefer to take their calls while walking or moving, and can be handled even with wet hands.
