WearOS 3 is clearly the highlight here, and it brings better support for third-party apps via the Google Play Store. Instead of relying on apps that are available on your phone, you can download smartwatch apps directly from the Play Store. Additionally, the new OS also offers a more contemporary UI and navigation.

With Alexa onboard, you can directly talk with your smartwatch via voice commands. While the Wellness Edition runs WearOS 3 out-of-the-box, existing Fossil Gen 6 users too can get the latest update. All they need to do is factory reset their watch, and set it back up using Fossil’s companion app.

As for hardware, you continue to get a 1.28-inch OLED display with an always-on mode. This is set in a metal chassis with a digital crown and two side buttons. While you won’t be able to take this smartwatch for a swim, it can survive a quick dip courtesy of 3ATM water resistance.

The 44mm watch has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chip under the hood, along with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC SE, and you can even answer calls from your watch.

There are a bunch of sensors onboard, including Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Altimeter, PPG Heart Rate, SpO2, and Off-body IR. Speaking of fitness tracking, the watch can monitor your heart-rate, blood-oxygen levels, step count, sleep monitoring, and it can also automatically detect workouts.

The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition is priced at Rs 24,245, and it is available in black IP, silver-tone stainless steel, and rose gold-tone stainless steel colours. The smartwatch is compatible with 20mm silicone straps, which are available in a host of colour options. These straps are available for Rs 2,432 each.
