DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro arrives with 40MP CMOS sensor, 4-hour battery life

DJI has launched a new action camera dubbed the Osmo Action 5 Pro. DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro succeeds the Osmo Action 4 and competes neck-to-neck with the newly launched Go Pro Hero 13 Black.

The action camera is capable of recording 4K videos at 120FPS and supports nifty features like HorizonSteady and RockSteady 3.0 for image stabilization. Let’s see the action camera’s full features.

DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro specifications and features

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro brings in several upgrades and improvements over the Osmo Action 4. It comes with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor that can produce 40MP stills as opposed to the 10MP image capturing ability of its predecessor.

The action camera can record 4K videos at up to 120 FPS. It can also shoot 1080p videos at 240 FPS for those looking to record slow-motion footage. Features like HorizonSteady and RockSteady 3.0 help with image stabilisation, getting you stable footage. It also has SuperNight modes for better lowlight images.

Coming to the battery bit, the Osmo Action 5 Pro packs a 1,950mAh battery that can offer up to four hours of usage. It has a 4nm chipset and features a larger OLED screen, which is brighter, making it better for the outdoors, just where it’s meant to be used. Further, the action camera can go 20 metres deep into the water without the case.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro has 47GB of internal storage, and if you want more, you can insert a MicroSD card. If you plan to make a movie with the footages captured from the Osmo Action 5, that’s easily possible, as it supports faster transfer speeds of up to 80 MB/s via the USB 3.0 port. There’s also Wi-Fi 6, which is not the latest, but still convenient for wireless file transfer.

DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro price and availability

DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro comes in a standard combo that’s priced at $349 (about Rs 29,200) for the camera, a battery, a mount and a protective frame.

The Adventure Combo costs $449 (about Rs 37,500), and it includes the things in the Standard Combo, plus an Osmo Quick-Release Adapter Mount (mini), an Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case, and an Osmo 1.5mn Extension Rod.

Currently, the Osmo Action 5 Pro is available globally, however, expect it to be available in India soon.
