Curved displays may usually be associated with gaming monitors, and for good reason. The curved display panels facilitate great immersion, which is great when you’re swinging through New York as Spider-Man or rampaging Los Santos as Trevor Philips. However, have you ever wondered if curved monitors make for good productivity tools? Dell answers this question with two new monitors.

The new Dell UltraSharp series curved monitors are made for creators and working professionals and offer a bunch of features that will end most display woes for officegoers. The Dell UltraSharp is available in both 34-inch and 40-inch sizes, and the latter is certified as the world’s first 5K monitor with 5-star eye comfort. Here’s everything you need to know about these monitors.

Dell UltraSharp curved monitors: What’s new?

Both the monitors come with a high-res display panel and high refresh rate. The UltraSharp 40-inch monitor sports 5K resolution IPS panel with 120Hz refresh rate and supports 99 per cent DCI-P3 colour space. Its ComfortView Plus tech reduces harmful blue light levels by up to 35 per cent and automatically adjusts elements like the brightness and colour tones to match the environment.

The curved monitor also comes with 140W power delivery via a Thunderbolt 4 port, along with a USB-A port, a DP 1.4 port and an HDMI 2.1 port. There’s also an RJ45 (Ethernet) port thrown in for more stable connectivity. The sleek stand here allows for tilt, swivel and height adjustment, while also supporting its own cable management for a neater overall look.

There are also some other neat features here, including 178-degree viewing angle, support for over a billion colours and a claimed contrast ratio of 2000:1, which should offer much deeper blacks than your average office monitor. Meanwhile, a built-in Dell Display Manager software will help users customise and control various aspects of their display output.

The slightly smaller Dell UltraSharp 34-inch monitor also features a similar spec-sheet for those who don’t want a 40-inch taking over their desktops. This includes a WQHD (3440 x 1440 pixels) resolution, the same ComfortView Plus tech, Thunderbolt 4 support and an ambient light sensor for all the auto-adjusting. It’s nice to see Dell not cutting down the features of its smaller monitor here.

Pricing and availability

The new Dell UltraSharp curved monitors are priced starting at USD 1,019.99 (about Rs 85,000) for the 34-inch model, and USD 2,399.99 (about Rs 2,00,000) for the larger 40-inch model. Both monitors don’t have India-specific launch details just yet, so users who are considering an upgrade for their desktops may need to wait a tad bit longer for more accurate pricing and other details.
