Artificial Intelligence and Consumer Electronics Show (CES) have been two peas in a pod for the past few years, and we absolutely love it. After all, the expo is where we feel closest to being in a sci-fi movie. Naturally, the event has been the perfect stage for brands to showcase their latest AI innovations, and CES 2025 is no different.
This year too AI is taking centre stage with several new and quirky technological advancements. Here’s a list of the craziest AI tech we have seen at CES 2025 so far.
Beatbot AI pool cleaner
Everyone loves hitting the pool on a hot summer day, but the few who own one know how much of a pain it is to maintain it. Imagine cleaning an aquarium, but much bigger, and permanently outdoors at the mercy of the elements. Not easy, right? But Beatbot’s new AquaSense 2 Ultra pool cleaner aims to help with that.
The 5-in-1 cleaner can combine data off cameras, infrared sensors and more to clean pool floors, walls and even waterlines. It also releases water cleansing agents to improve the quality of your pool’s water. It uses artificial intelligence to set sights on any kind of debris, and also to understand uneven surfaces better.
Petal AI Camera
We didn’t know ‘nature camera’ was a thing until we came across the Petal AI camera, an AI-powered camera that looks like a bionic flower (with an optional solar panel designed like a leaf). The Petal camera can be planted with the rest of your favourite pots, and it will keep an eye on them.
Once set up, the Petal AI camera can show you any kind of concerns, ideas or general trivia around your plants and their growth. A forthcoming chat feature will also let users converse with the AI and ask questions around what else they can do to improve the health of their garden.
Samsung Ballie
Those who have been tracking CES for a few years now know that the Samsung Ballie isn’t exactly a new entry this year. The AI powered do-it-all rollable ball is a compact AI-powered robot that can travel around the house, communicate with you, and even use a built-in projector to cast media and other stuff on surfaces like a wall.
The real announcement was Samsung letting us know that the Ballie will actually be available commercially later this year. While the rollout will be limited to the US for now, it is interesting to see Samsung roll out (pun intended) what could be the first mainstream AI robot for homes, something we’ve all wanted since we watched Wall-E.
Ropet AI robot pet
The name Ropet comes from Robot + Pet, and that’s largely what the Ropet is. Just like the Samsung Ballie, the Ropet robot pet is an AI-powered companion that has a little more personality and most importantly, a cute, welcoming face.
Designed to be a warm and cozy companion, Ropet uses AI to understand and adapt to your personality, similar to Baymax from Big Hero 6. Benefits of such robots include everything from keeping children company, to helping the elderly with emotional support.

Tech like this can be as creepy as it can be helpful, so it will be interesting to see how Ropet maintains privacy through all of this. Regardless, it is always great to see AI implementations geared towards improving mental wellbeing, and we believe the Ropet represents a big step in that area.
Jizai Mi-Mo walking lamp
The most random robot designs are acceptable in only two settings – either a sci-fi movie or at CES, and we have seen quite a few unique robots this year too.
But one of the most intriguing of the lot is the Jizai Mi-Mo ‘walking’ lamp – yes, you read that right. Hailing from Japan, this AI-powered robot is technically a piece of furniture with one key difference – it can move around and even wave at you.
Mi-Mo is powered by several AI models that give it the ability to understand its surroundings, and act on elements using its own audio and visual cues. The premise is one targeted at developers, who can then code away to make the Mi-Mo do whatever they want, including integrating with third-party apps.
Jizai may bring the workings of this robot to other furniture later on, but for now, this cute little Pixar-like robot desk is a good example of how creative home furnishing can get with a touch of AI.
Withings Omnia body scanning mirror
Remember those large glass panels that Tony Stark had at his Malibu apartment in Iron Man? The Withings Omnia body scanning mirror is that, but actually better.
It is a full-size mirror with a built-in display, along with a footboard that you can stand on. While you admire your flawless skin, the Omnia uses data from a bunch of cameras and sensors on both the mirror and the footboard to determine your general health and key vitals.
All of these are then presented in a hologram-like display right on the mirror you were looking at. It’s almost like the Mirror of Erised from the Harry Potter universe, but instead of showing you what you want to have, it shows you the health metrics you should be looking at instead.
Halliday AI smart glasses
It’s no secret that smart glasses have been around for a few years now. But they haven’t really moved away from their chonky-looking frames and are yet to look like regular, everyday glasses. That is until the new Halliday AI smart glasses came along, which not only look normal, but also add a taste of AI.

With a tiny “DigiWindow” display in a corner, the glasses can create the illusion of a 3.5-inch display in front of your eyes when you wear them. However, because of the magnification, the display remains hidden to the people around you, who still think you’re wearing just a thick frame. It can also anticipate questions and prepare answers during a conversation. Wouldn’t that be just fantastic during interviews?
Brisk It AI-powered outdoor grill
‘AI in the kitchen’ already sounds like an interesting premise, and products like the Samsung Bespoke AI refrigerator have made that a reality in recent years. The Brisk It is however a smart appliance for the outdoor kitchens.
Built for your backyard, this AI-powered grill comes with an app that will scan ingredients and tell you what you can cook, but that’s just the beginning. You can also feed photos from Instagram straight to Brisk It and it will tell you exactly how to recreate the recipe.
The app will also let you type cooking prompts like “give me a recipe for four chicken lovers and one vegan friend” and Brisk It will do the rest. However, if you choose to not use the AI features, the Brisk It is still a full-fledged, high-performance grill on its own.
These were the best AI announcements from CES 2025 so far, but we still have a few days to go, so stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for some more last-minute additions.
