Blackmagic app comes to OnePlus, Xiaomi phones with new update

Blackmagic, one of the most popular third-party camera apps out there, was only available for iPhones for the longest time. However, that changed earlier this year, when the app was made available to many Android phones.

Unless you had a Samsung Galaxy S24 or one of the few supported Google Pixel devices though, Blackmagic continued to be out of reach. That changes with the new Blackmagic v1.1 update, that brings support for many devices, along with other additions and changes.

Blackmagic app: Which new phones are supported?

The new update brings the app to some OnePlus smartphones like the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 12. Xiaomi flagships like the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14 are also supported, as are the older Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series phones. The update even brings the app to older Pixel phones from the Google Pixel 6 series.

Other new features

The new update also adds some features including HDMI monitoring, support for 3D LUTs, Pull focus transition controls, screen dimming while recording and support for Blackmagic’s cloud features.

Users can also now save clips shot from the Blackmagic app to any location on their device, including on external devices like supported hard drives. Other features include image noise reduction, image sharpening, Audio level pop-ups and even Japanese translations.

Blackmagic is available on the Google Play Store for all of the above-mentioned devices, and all users need to do to get it installed is to visit the Play Store, find the official Blackmagic app, and install it on their smartphones.
