New Bing widgets on iPhone: What are they and how to use them

Microsoft’s Bing has taken a step further in integrating with your iPhone experience by introducing new widgets. These widgets allow you to quickly access Bing’s search and chat features directly from your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Today View. No more opening a separate app – Bing is just a tap away. In this article, we’ll explore what these new Bing widgets offer and how to seamlessly incorporate them into your iPhone routine.

Bing widgets on iPhones: What they are

Microsoft has released two distinct Bing widgets for your iPhone:

1. Bing Chat

The Bing Chat widget is your direct line to Bing’s AI-powered chat feature. It sports buttons for Bing Chat, Bing Voice search, and a traditional Bing search.

2. Bing Search

This Bing Search widget focuses on classic search functions, with dedicated buttons for image search, voice search, and, of course, the Bing Chat option for those times you need a conversational approach.

How to add Bing widgets to your iPhone

Here are steps on how to add Bing widgets to your iPhone

1. Make sure you have either the Microsoft Bing app or the Microsoft Edge browser installed on your iPhone.

2. Long press on an empty area of your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Today View until the icons start to jiggle.

3. Tap the ‘+’ button in the top corner.

4. Scroll through the available widgets and find the Bing widgets.

5. Select your preferred widget size and tap ‘Add Widget.’ You can drag the widget to your desired location.

Using the Bing Widgets

Bing Widgets are designed to be straightforward and intuitive. With the Bing Chat Widget, a simple tap on the “Bing Chat” button instantly launches a new chat session, allowing you to engage with Bing’s AI capabilities right away. If you prefer a hands-free experience, the “Bing Voice Search” button enables you to speak your query instead of typing it.

The Bing Search Widget offers a more traditional search approach. Tapping the “Bing Search” button brings up a familiar search bar where you can type your query. If you’re looking for images, the “Image Search” button is your shortcut to visual results. And for those times when you’d rather speak than type, the “Voice Search” button allows you to initiate voice-based searches.

Why use Bing Widgets?

There are several compelling reasons to incorporate Bing widgets into your iPhone routine. First and foremost is convenience. The widgets provide instant access to Bing’s features, eliminating the need to open the app itself. You also have the flexibility to choose the widget that best aligns with your usage patterns and place it wherever you find it most convenient on your Home Screen.
