Unlike a regular washing machine — which also attempts to dry your clothes via spinning — a true washer-dryer uses dedicated, hot air that presents you with dry, ready-to-use clothes directly after a wash. The clothes will of course need ironing to remove creases, but they will be completely dry and you won’t need a clothesline. 

That said, true washer-dryer combos are very expensive and difficult to find in India. Such units are also very large as they usually comprise two sections, and very expensive to run because of the sheer amount of power they consume.

As you can see, dedicated washer-dryer combos are few and far in between, but you do have a few options if you’re sure you need one. Only a dedicated dryer unit can give you the full performance that you expect from a washer-dryer, but combo units are usually good enough for most people.
