Beats has launched the new Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds, which is the latest in its line of audio products. The new earbuds come with a fitness-oriented design, but the highlight is monitoring vitals like heart-rate monitoring and more.
Here’s all you need to know about the new Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, including how much it costs, what new features it brings to the table, and more.
Beats Powerbeats Pro 2: New features and specifications
The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are a pair of TWS or Truly Wireless Stereo headphones that come with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and a new Transparency mode too. Thanks to this, the earbuds can block external sound and give you an immersive experience, but also use the Transparency mode to make sure you hear everything around you, which is great for when you’re outdoors.
The earbuds also come with Adaptive EQ, Spatial Audio support and even Dynamic Head Tracking, all features borrowed from the Apple AirPods Pro. Thanks to these, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 can be used for multiple use-cases including movies and other media, despite them being primarily targeted towards fitness enthusiasts.

For those who would actually use the earbuds outdoors, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 comes with a 20 per cent lighter chassis and comes with a new reinforced nickel-titanium alloy in the frame that helps improve flexibility when there’s movement involved.
The earbuds also come with heart-rate monitoring, which uses LED optical sensors near the ears to measure blood flow over 100 times every second, similar to how heart-rate monitors work on smartwatches. The data metrics can then be tracked via multiple apps, including Runna, Nike Run Club, and Open.
The earbuds are also powered by Apple’s H2 chip, the same chip that powers the AirPods Pro Gen 2. Beats also claims the Powerbuds Pro 2 will come with 45 hours of total battery life, with a five-minute charge being enough to deliver 90 minutes of playback.

Other features include one-touch pairing and automatic switching for Apple users who have products like iPhones, iPads or MacBooks. For Android phones, most functionality will be taken care of by the Beats App.
The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 is priced at Rs 29,900 and comes in four colour options – Jet Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple and Electric Orange. They will be available on the Apple India website to buy.
