As always, the spotlight was on the newly launched Apple iPhone 16 series. However, at the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event, the company had lots more in store for Apple enthusiasts, including the brand-new Watch 10 series. Read on to know everything about Apple’s latest wearable device.
Apple Watch Series 10 key changes
The new Apple Watch Series 10, powered by Apple’s S10 SiP, has the largest ever screen, and the thinnest ever case seen on an Apple Watch (just 9.7mm). The screen now has up to 30 per cent more space than the Apple Watch Series 9, which will result in more reading space, comfortable typing experience, and better looking watchfaces. The rounded wide-angle OLED display is now up to 40 per cent brighter and is easier to read at different angles. That’s not all.
Despite the larger size, Apple has impressively made this watch the thinnest ever. This is possible by smartly reducing the component sizes on the insides by up to 30 per cent. Yet, this size reduction comes with no impact to performance.
Take for instance the speakers, which maybe smaller, but are capable of playing music and podcasts at decent volume. This is particularly helpful when you’re out but you forgot your AirPods at home.
On the back of the Apple Watch Series 10 is a larger charging coil, which also allows it to be the fastest charging Apple Watch ever. The brand claims that it can charge as much as up to 80 per cent, in just 30 minutes.
Other noteworthy features include a 50-metre water resistance, and a new depth sensor, which comes in handy for snorkeling, providing data including depth and water temperature, your route, and more.
Apple Watch Series 10 health tracking features to look out for
Coming to the health tracking features, and the Watch Series 10 now gets Sleep Apnea detection capabilities. Using the accelerometer, the watch can detect breathing disturbances which cause one to often wake up frequently, when trying to sleep.
It then sends users an alert notifying them of their condition and asking them to get checked, after analysing data over a 30-day period. The feature, once approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is expected to be made available in over 150 countries.

Besides that, the watch also gets a new wrist temperature sensor, and can now send you medication reminders, loud environmental noise warnings, and detect Atrial fibrillation in users.
Needless to say, all this is in addition to the Watch’s ability to detect and track a range of workouts and sporting activities.
Apple Watch Series 10 price and availability
The new Apple Watch Series 10 is available in two new finishes – Polished Titanium and Aluminium. The new titanium finish on the Apple Watch Series 10 – available in Natural, Gold and Slate Gray finishes – results in the wearable weighing up to 20 per cent less than the stainless-steel Apple Watch Series 9.
The aluminium finish variants come with a reflective, shiny finish, adding all the more to its premium appeal. It is available in a super cool Jet-Black finish, akin to the one on the iPhone 7, alongside the Rose Gold and Silver Aluminium finishes.
The Apple Watch Series 10 prices start from Rs 46,900, and it will be available starting from September 20.
Apple Watch Ultra 2: What's new?
While Apple skipped on introducing a new Apple Watch Ultra model this year, it did reveal the Watch Ultra 2 in a new Satin Black colour variant. This is accompanied by a brand-new Titanium Milanese Loop band.
Additionally, it also gets new colours on the Alpine Loop, Trail Loop and Ocean band straps, and the new sleep apnea detection capabilities of the Apple Watch Series 10.
