After seven long months, Apple has finally announced a launch date for its Vision Pro Mixed Reality (MR) headset, as well as its pricing. In addition to this, Apple has finally revealed the price of the Zeiss prescription lenses which users can get with it.
Apple Vision Pro: All you need to know
Apple first announced its Vision Pro headset during its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June 2023. The MR headset lets you switch between Augmented as well as Virtual reality (AR and VR) using a dial located on the right side. For the same, it is powered by Apple’s in-house M2 chip platform coupled with the new R1 chip, which processes inputs in real-time.
The Vision Pro headset features a 4K display for each eye and allows users to navigate its interface without a controller. How, you ask? It does so using eye, hand, and head tracking. That’s not all; if you prefer using your fingers or wrist, the Vision Pro can also be used with pointer control. Oh, and, did we mention HDR support, as well as support for the Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad?
The device allows you to do anything from watching a movie on a large virtual screen in your living room, viewing spatial videos in 3D, as well as interacting with apps you may use every day, such as FaceTime, Photos and even check your emails and social media handles, all in real-time. What’s cool is, the headset runs on visionOS, which works with most iPhone and iPad apps without requiring any modifications from developers.

Bear in mind, however, that the headset is currently only being made available in the US. When it will make its way to other international markets, and what its price will be, remains unknown as of now.

While the Apple Vision Pro headset may seemed to have been something straight out of science fiction until a few months ago, but it is very much real, and very much here.
