Apple iPhone 13 now available under Rs 50,000: Should you still consider it in 2025?

Apple’s 2024 iPhone 15 series and the newer iPhone 16 series phones have picked up a lot of changes over the years, including much-improved cameras, the new Dynamic Island notch and more. However, for all this, the newer iPhones also set you back significantly more.

More importantly, not everyone needs to spend that much. It’s never a great idea to buy a more expensive phone that you may not use to your fullest. So, does that make the iPhone 13 a great buy in 2025, at its latest, discounted price? Let’s take a closer look.

iPhone 13 price in India in 2025

On Croma.com, you can find the iPhone 13 starting at Rs 46,400. However, there’s also an instant bank discount of Rs 46,400, which brings the total starting price to Rs 45,400 for the 128GB variant of the phone. Further, you can also exchange your older device to get a little more of the price shaved off as part of an exchange bonus.

This makes it the lowest price the iPhone 13 has been available for since its launch. However, whether you should get the iPhone 13 at this price, will depend on several factors.

Who should get the iPhone 13 in 2025?

The iPhone 13 is still a very capable device, and comes with a set of cameras and other specifications that can still hold their own in 2025 for most casual users. The phone is powerful enough for casual games, has versatile cameras for everything from vacation pictures to FaceTime calls.

It also supports MagSafe charging and accessories, as well as IP68 water resistance and all the cool features in iOS 18, except Apple Intelligence. More importantly, if you’re looking for an affordable, but still capable device to get into the ‘Apple ecosystem’, or looking for a cheap iPhone for someone younger in the family or as a backup phone, the iPhone 13 makes perfect sense.

Who shouldn’t get the iPhone 13 in 2025

If you consider yourself a power user, who wants more from everyday aspects that you’d use your smartphone for, you may find the iPhone 13 slightly underwhelming. If you want to play the latest AAA games at max graphics, or use a higher resolution camera for pictures you can actually print later on, the iPhone 13 may be a little too dated for you.

Instead, you can consider the iPhone 16, which comes with a lot of design and under-the-hood changes to help out in camera performance as well as general performance. This includes Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools and Image Playground. An alternative is the iPhone 15, which is a year old, but remains a very powerful device, minus the Apple intelligence abilities.
