Apple Intelligence finally makes its way to India; here’s everything you need to know

After months of anticipation, Apple Intelligence has finally rolled out in India, bringing a host of AI-powered features to users with no workarounds required. Previously, Indian users had to change up their region and Siri language to use these features, but with the latest update, it’s no longer needed.

Let’s get started by listing down some of the Apple Intelligence features users can now access in India. Up first is Writing Tools that can summarise text, check grammar, and enhance overall writing. The Clean Up tool lets users effortlessly remove unwanted objects from photos, while Genmoji allows the creation of AI-generated emojis. Image Playground enables users to generate custom images from scratch.

Siri has also received a major upgrade. Now integrated with ChatGPT, Siri can respond with improved contextual awareness and smarter answers. Even better, users don’t need a ChatGPT account to use these features, making it more accessible for first-time AI users.

Visual Intelligence is another noteworthy addition, enabling users to learn more about objects, places, or text by simply pointing their camera at them.

Other Apple Intelligent features include priority notifications, which highlight time-sensitive messages, and natural language photo search, allowing users to navigate their photo library more intuitively. In the Notes app, the new Image Wand transforms basic sketches into polished visuals with the help of AI.

On the privacy front, Apple maintains its commitment to data protection. When using ChatGPT-enabled Siri, user IP addresses are obscured to prevent session tracking. Notably, most of these AI features work on-device, minimising the need to send sensitive data to the cloud.

For features requiring cloud access, Apple uses its Private Cloud Compute, ensuring data remains secure within Apple’s controlled infrastructure.
