Android 15-based ColorOS 15 announced with revamped design and AI features

Oppo has announced the ColorOS 15 update for its range of smartphones. The update is based on the latest Android 15 OS, and it brings some major upgrades. These include new features like Circle to Search and the integration of its very own AI assistant. 

If you are an Oppo smartphone user, your smartphone might get the update soon, so read on to see everything new in ColorOS 15. 

What’s new in ColorOS 15?

There are a slew of features that Oppo phones will get with ColorOS 15. Starting from Parallel windowing to AI features, here’s everything new in Oppo’s latest version of the ColorOS.

Parallel windowing: ColorOS 15 supercharges your Oppo device by allowing it to open multiple windows simultaneously. This feature ensures that you can do several tasks at once, saving you time. 

New animations: Oppo revealed that users can experience smoother and more consistent animations. Sliding animation is now smoother in most third-party apps, making the user’s interface more refined.

Cool new AI features: Oppo has added a new AI voice assistant in ColorOS 15. The Super Xiaobu Assistant, which will likely to be limited to China, will allow users to get answers to their queries.

Apart from this, there are other AI features in the OS, like Circle to Search, AI Voice Summary, AI Notes, AI translations, AI Super Pixel upscaling, AI de-glare, and AI blur.

Independent notification tray: Oppo has drawn inspiration from Apple and has created a separate notification tray, where you can see alerts from different apps. To access quick shortcuts, you need to open a dedicated control centre tray. 

Sharing options: Speaking of inspiration, Oppo users can now wirelessly share files, like images, videos, documents and more with iPhones. 

Other than this, ColorOS 15 comes with a Dynamic Island, like iOS. Further, it brings a revamped lock screen and has a dedicated lock screen theme library, which will let you customise your lock screen as per your preference. 

ColorOS also brings some performance improvements and has privacy features like auto deletion of OTPs, improved app-access permissions, an in-built clipboard, and more.

ColorOS 15 rollout schedule and compatible phones

The Android 15-based Oppo ColorOS 15 will be available to the following Oppo devices. 

November 2024: Oppo Find X7 series, Oppo Find N3 series 

December 2024: Oppo Find N2, Find X6, Reno 12 Pro 5G, Pad 2, and K12 series

January 2025: Oppo Find N2 Flip, Find X5, Find X5 Pro, Reno 12 5G, Oppo Reno 11 series, Reno 10 Pro series 

February 2025: Oppo Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition, Reno 9 Pro+ 5G, Reno 10 5G, K11 series 

March 2025: Oppo Reno 9 Pro 5G, Reno 9 5G, Reno 8 Pro+
