While capturing pictures, photographers were always posed with the problem of removing unwanted background distractions manually. To ease their jobs, one of the most powerful and popular tools, Adobe Photoshop decided to use generative AI to help its users.
Keeping up with AI trends, Adobe has further enhanced the Photoshop artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve the app’s capability that can benefit photograph and visual creators. Last year, Adobe released the Remove Tool which enabled users to brush over or circle an object that needs to be removed from the image. Photoshop would then use generative AI to fill the space to complete the picture.
This Remove tool gets an upgrade, so let’s how it can help editors and photographers.
Adobe Photoshop: Find and Remove Distractions
Powered by the new Adobe Firefly AI model, the Remove Tool uses generative AI to remove unwanted elements from your photos and replace them with new AI-generated content. In the latest Photoshop beta version, the Remove Tool has received some upgrades in the form of ‘Find Distractions’.
Find Distractions is a tool that can be used to instantly remove two specific kinds of distractions from your photos. One of them is removing unwanted people in the background. The software will detect the main subject, keep them safe, and remove unwanted strangers or annoying photo bombers from the image.
The other kind of distraction is the removal of wires and cables. This feature will detect random wires and cables and clean them up in a single click.

This is a new feature that is provided in the beta version of Photoshop. With Distraction Removal, removing unwanted items and people will get easier. With a single click, Photoshop can automatically find, remove, and replace common distractions in an image, including people, wires, and cables.
Adobe Firefly, the generative AI of Adobe, has been added as an option with the new Photoshop update. Let’s find out what it offers.
What does Adobe Firefly include?
Adobe Firefly features the latest Firefly Image 3 Model both in the desktop app and on the web. The latest model powers numerous Photoshop features including Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Generate Similar, and Generate Background.
The Generative Fill enables users to add or remove content from an image using text prompts. In contrast, the Generative Expand allows users to extend the edges of their photo using the crop tool. This helps to change the aspect ratio of an image and provides the subject with additional breathing room in the frame.
If these features seem exciting to you, you can opt for Adobe Firefly in the new update. However, users can choose to disable the generative AI to fit their preferences.
