Interstellar, the sci-fi epic directed by Christopher Nolan, was originally released in theatres on November 5, 2014. To celebrate the completion of 10 years since the day the movie debuted, producers and distributors Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros have decided to release the movie in theatres once again.
With the re-release, it is certain that Interstellar will add a significant amount to its lifetime collection. Here are all the details you need to know before the movie hits the theatres.
Interstellar in IMAX again
Set in the dystopian future where the Earth becomes uninhabitable, a farmer and ex-NASA pilot are tasked to pilot a spacecraft along with a team of researchers to travel to other end of the universe to find a new planet where humans can survive.
The film went on to receive five Oscar nominations and ended up taking home the Best Visual Effects award. It features a stellar cast including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Jessica Chastian and Michael Caine.

Since director Christopher Nolan works very closely with IMAX technology, it makes perfect sense that fans get to enjoy the movie once again in IMAX screens. The film will release on December 6 and will remain in theatres for a week only with limited shows.
Advance ticket sales have begun in the US, while dates for India should be announced shortly. For those who haven’t seen this masterpiece yet, here’s your chance to catch the movie on an IMAX screen.
It is important to note that the 70mm film and digital prints will be showcased in select theatres in places like Dallas, Florida, Indianapolis, California, New York, and Arizona. For the people who liked Oppenheimer, they shouldn’t miss this experience in theatres, so make sure you book your tickets well in advance.
In related news, Christopher Nolan seems to have started working on his next project with IMAX starring Matt Damon and Tom Holland in the lead. Universal Studios has already set a release date of July 17, 2026.
